Privacy Policy

Effective August 19, 2026  ·  SAM Labs LLC

SAM Labs LLC ("SAM Labs," "we," "us") provides scanning acoustic microscopy (CSAM), non-destructive testing, and related project management consulting services to industrial and electronics clients. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit sam-labs.com or request a quote or information from us.

1. Overview

This policy covers information collected through sam-labs.com, including our quote-request form, and information we collect in the course of providing acoustic microscopy and non-destructive testing services to clients. It does not cover information collected by third-party sites we may link to.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Quote and contact information — name, email address, phone number, company name, and the project or testing details you provide through our contact form.
  • File attachments — drawings, part specifications, images, or other files you choose to attach to a quote request.
  • Usage data — pages visited, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Cookies — used to analyze site traffic and improve the website experience, as described in Section 6.

3. How We Use Information

  • To respond to quote requests and inquiries, and to prepare proposals for testing and consulting services;
  • To deliver testing services and communicate about active projects, including scheduling and reporting;
  • To maintain, secure, and improve our website; and
  • To understand aggregate website traffic patterns.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Client Samples & Test Data

Providing our services often involves receiving physical samples (such as flip chips, composites, plastic encapsulated ICs, or brazes), along with part drawings, specifications, or other technical information you provide so that we can perform scanning acoustic microscopy, cross-sectioning, decapsulation, or related testing.

  • Confidential treatment. We treat samples, drawings, specifications, and test results as confidential business information, accessible only to the personnel performing or reviewing your testing.
  • Limited use. We use this information only to perform the requested testing and consulting, prepare your report, and, where relevant, respond to follow-up questions about that work.
  • No unrelated use. We do not use client technical data, designs, or test results for any purpose beyond the engagement for which it was provided, and we do not share it with other clients or third parties without your consent, except as described in Section 5.

5. How We Share Information

  • Service providers that host our website, process our quote form, or support our business operations, under confidentiality obligations;
  • Legal requirements, such as a valid subpoena or court order; and
  • Business transfers, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to the receiving party honoring the commitments in this policy.

We do not sell or rent personal information or client project data to third parties.

6. Cookies & Third-Party Tools

Our website uses cookies to analyze traffic and improve your browsing experience; you can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit.

Our quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which may collect technical information about your device and browsing behavior for fraud-prevention purposes. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information and client project data, including confidential samples and test results. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to promptly investigate and address any incident.

8. Data Retention

We retain quote and contact information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry or maintain our business relationship. Test data and reports are retained for the period specified in your service engagement, or otherwise for a reasonable period to support warranty, billing, or legal needs, after which they are securely deleted or de-identified.

9. Your Privacy Rights

You may ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate information; or
  • Delete personal information, subject to any legal or contractual retention requirements.

To exercise these rights, contact us at drachell@sam-labs.com.

10. California Privacy Rights

As a California-based business, we note that California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
